Showcasing the Faux Clear Embossing Technique
I used the Just Wanted to Say dies to show the Faux Clear Embossing technique. Clear embossing normally requires embossing powder and a heat tool but this cool technique uses clear packing tape instead and works perfectly with small dies like those that cut out sentiments. Besides the Embossed sentiment, the paper makes the card! I love the Country Woods Designer Series Paper. This paper is great for masculine themed cards. I also faux embossed the stars. The thin strip of Basic Gray was embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing folder and and ties in with the wood theme perfectly.

Supplies:
- Card Stock – Basic Gray (121044); Night of Navy (100867); Pool Party (122924); Basic White (159276)

Measurements:
- Basic Gray: 5 ½” x 8 1/2”,
½” x 4 ½” - Pool Party: 4 ¾” x 3 ½”
3 ½”: x 2 ½” - Night of Navy: 5” x 2”
- Basic White: 4” x 5 ¼”
- DSP: 4 ½” x 1 ¾” (white pattern)
4 ½” x 1 ½” (multicolor pattern)
Instructions:
- Score Basic Gray cardstock at 4 ¼, fold card base in half. Use bone folder to flatten card base. Adhere DSP pieces to the larger piece of Pool Party cardstock. Emboss the thin strip of Basic Gray cardstock with the Timber 3D embossing folder and adhere to the card front over the seam of the 2 pieces of DSP. Adhere this piece to the center of the card front.
- To create an illusion of clear embossing, adhere a single piece of clear packing tape over the Night of Navy cardstock. Die cut the sentiment “Happy Birthday” and the stars from this piece. You must place the dies on the side with the packing tape or the embossed words will be reversed. Die cut the sentiment outline from the remaining piece of Pool Party cardstock. Adhere the faux clear embossed sentiment to the Pool Party die cut.
- Adhere the sentiment to the card front with dimensionals and the stars with multipurpose glue.
- Decorate Basic White cardstock as desired and adhere to inside of card.
